Waste management
In terms of waste management, Mercedes‑Benz Manufacturing Hungary Kft. considers it a fundamental goal during production to prevent the generation of waste, continuously reduce the amount produced, and maximize recycling and recovery in the interest of sustainable development. The plant has achieved outstanding results in recent years: since 2013, it has increased its recycling rate by more than 54%, reaching nearly 100%. For metal waste, the recycling rate has already reached 100%.
These excellent results—remarkable even by European standards—were achieved through the selective collection of nearly 100 different types of waste and by identifying companies specializing in waste treatment and recycling. Both the waste management team responsible for coordination and the contracted service providers carrying out the operational work played a significant role in this success.
